torrent help (video problems)

ive got utorrent when i dl the torrent it plays with windows media player for every file format. but i can only hear it, no video! it makes me mad i spend 3 hours to get nothing....WTF! is there some sort of driver i dont have? am i getting bad torrents? are they encoded right? am i just retarded?(more than likely)

You are probalbly missing a codec, here is a link to download the K-Lite player, is quite good supports loads of codecs and will clean up any old codecs it finds lying around when it installs.

Codecs like XVid only encode the picture part of the video, and will need to use another codec for sound like an ogg player, seems like what is happening to you.

If it still doesn't work after you install the codec try installing VLC player. I did that when my Windows Media Player stopped working.

Another codec you could go for is the Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP) which is a really good codec.

if i dl more than 1 codec do they interfer with each other?
