Uploading WebM avatars

So I believe at some point or another it was mentioned that it is possible to upload WebM avatars to Fakku. however, uploading 160 * 260 webMs didn't seem to work. Is it possible to upload an oversized WebM and still be able to crop and retain animation? In comparison to uploading gif avatars, what is the process.

On a bonus note, do webMs not work in signatures?

Webms are videos. Gifs are images.

It may be possible but it's a different beast to tame.

We have no plans to support WebM avatars (and I don't think we ever said we would). It's not really an appropriate file format for an avatar, especially when it natively supports audio. I recommend converting your avatar to a gif and uploading that.

Is it possible for us to have WebP or APNG support in the future? Gif files are normally over 1mb, and to try and cram a gif under 1mb results in a horribly butchered level of quality.
