Video Game character MOTEMOTE?
0
I was just wondering this, I don't know if this was presented already. But how about a Video Game MOTEMOTE? It's just an idea, because I know some video games dawn forth some beautiful girl characters, mostly noted in RPG's. Thoughts on this?

My only criticism with that is that not all people play video games, and some less than others. (Especially me, who hasn't really played a lot of Japanese specific video games.) There's also way too many games to pick out as well, and from various gaming platforms to choose from.
I'd be more interested in a best-couple Motemote from anime series.

First, yes this has been suggested before. Second, two Motemote contests in one year would be too much. Additionally, it would be like g-money said, this is a hentai site, so interest in anime/manga is highly likely, but interest in video games is (mostly) independent of that.

Well..I've thought this idea a while ago, but I don't feel like posting it because I think Mote2 is a Special event Held about once in 3-4 months...and it's a perfect period already so I don't think any other event is needed...
I'd be more interested in a best-couple Motemote from anime series.
Lol...yeah...never thought of that, but I'm sure It'll be Awesome... like the idea...

I would say that a contest involving video game characters would be a good alternative to the MoteMote competition which we already have in place.
However, there are a few issues to be tackled, one of which would be the time, effort and resources needed to organize another of such competition. In addition, by video game characters, do we include those from eroge and visual novels?
Nonetheless, your idea provides food for thought.

Well. I agree about the girl is too many to choose to. How about only a 2d RPG game mote2 (well not 2d but a 2d-like character like Radiata Stories game, Suikoden, Disgaea, Eternal Sonata, etc) that may decrease what to choose from (aside that not everyone knows who`s who cause not everyone plays video game). Well that`s my opinion, and about Visual Novel Motemote, isn`t it actually perfect, cause in Fakku everyone at least play Visual Novel (well considering how many Visual Novel character is, how about only the popular one???)
edit: well I realize my writing style like I`m the one suggesting it. So I tell u I don`t suggest it but only asking to the one that suggest it (just in case anyone objecting me)

I guess eroge Motemote wouldn't be too bad, but there are zillions of eroge/VN out there, and only the few select make it to popularity. That would spend consider amount of time weeding out candidates for this. Also the reason FAKKU does Motemote with anime is because it is most likely that people watch anime way more often than playing eroges/VNs. I myself have only played a few games, which is like nothing compared to the amount of CG sets I download off from the net where I don't have the games for the CG sets. It's a more obscure genre than anime, which is why I think it probably wouldn't get as much attention as an anime-based Motemote.

I really like the idea of Eroge and VN MOTEMOTE, but like G-Money said, Too many characters to include. If we choose a specific theme it might be easier. (ex: Games by ZYX, Popular VNs, etc..etc..)
Even I who have played many VN and eroge can't decide which Character to include in the MOTEMOTE.

Well, like most of you guys who said they haven't played much video games, I too haven't seen much of the anime in this years MOTEMOTE, I haven't even seen Spice and Wolf and I'm pulling for Horo. So I just thought it was a good idea to suggest this since I thought it would reach a considerable amount of audience, I wasn't thinking it should be held every year just like the regular MOTEMOTE, just along the lines of a trial of sorts. Anyways that was the general idea. 8)

@kazenoken: I'm not sure what you mean by main character, as in who to choose?
@DxTRiNiTYLiMiTxD: As for harem anime, even I wouldn't think that's a hard thing to choose from, since they eventually choose a character at the end anyways. But even if we exclude the harem anime, there are many anime that have well-established couples even with the harem motif in them. For example, Love Hina was a harem anime, but we all know that it's Keitaro x Naru. Then the list can go on: (popular ones)
Kenshin x Kaoru from Rurouni Kenshin
Kaoru x Aoi from Ai Yori Aoshi
Keiichi x Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess
Sagara x Chidori from Full Metal Panic!
Keita x Yoko from Inukami!
Kamina x Yoko and Simon x Nia from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Tamahone x Miaka from Fushigi Yuugi
Kira x Lacus from Gundam SEED
Heero x Relena from Gundam Wing
Coud x Ren from Erementar Gerad
Syaoran x Sakura from Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicles
Hibiki x Dita from Vandread
etc. etc.
... and more recent
Tomoya x Nagisa from Clannad
Tsukune x Moka from Rosario + Vampire
Edgar x Lydia from Earl and Fairy
Kouta x Chizuru from Kanokon
Kuro x Kuromitsu from Kurozuka
etc. etc. (Yes, I'm a sucker for romance in case you haven't noticed.)
@theotaku: it's not a bad idea, but considering the premise of FAKKU, which is hentai material, it's another form of manga and anime with H-scenes. Thus a Motemote based on anime (since people watch TV more than read) would be a very popular since anime is a popular genre that would be able to encompass many peoples' interests and hobbies.

I'd rather not see another motemote type of contest. What I would like is a "Anime of the year" type award. To see what users thought the best/most popular series in 08 was.

I think if we had this sort of "Anime of the Year" contest, we'd have to not let long-running series be in the running. It'd be so there could be actual competition, but also, if a series runs across several years, how can it be considered the best show of any certain year?
But what would we do about series that started in October or November of 2007 but finished in 2008?

That isn't a bad idea.
How about a seiyuu popularity contest instead?!
I'd be much interested in something like this plus the fact that "seiyuus" are the ones responsible for bringing our beloved anime characters to LIFE!

I don't think most people keep up with seiyuus. Or, if they do, they only keep up with a few who do a lot of roles. Personally, I can only think of two, and that's the chick who did Haruhi and Konota, and the guy who does Zoro in One Piece. Of course, both their names escape me at the moment, but I do know them. I guess.
