You can't have one single thread for one specific game
like myself an others we don't want to go through dozen of pages of old posts of people talking about pre-ordering the game when the game is out already LOL
You need to be able to make threads when it comes to say a specific issue that is happening at the time like a glitch/bug
or a thread to talk about a specific DLC etc.
Hence right now the video game section is stale an not as useful as intended

Agreed.
The entire premise of not being able to have multiple topics is getting a bit ridiculous. There is a difference between having multiple copies of the same thread, and only one thread about a broad topic. Unfortunately, this doesn't just apply to the Video Games section, either.

I disagree. It's to keep the section from becoming a clusterfuck of similar threads.

You do realize that you don't need to go through the earlier posts in the thread to get to the most recent?
or a thread to talk about a specific DLC etc.
Why can't you do that in the official topic? It's seems pretty logical.
Agreed.
Major announcements like a popular game getting a long awaited sequel, or something along those lines, could warrant a new thread, but minor stuff like DLC/YouTube videos etc does not imo.
I like the NeoGAF setup (in lack of better words).
