With tsujoi's recent post about the police finding the sex doll, I got the idea that maybe we should have an area to post news stories that make us rofl, lmao(maybe it should be loao(laugh our asses off)?), or lol in any other variant form.

I think a simple "news" section would suffice, we shouldn't have all news articles be mainly of humour. We could deal with all sorts of media, so as to provide a broader range. Of course the thread will be full of articles meant to elicit a lol, but we should also give cool articles about the latest technology or updates on cool things like movie progression/announcements. The problem though is that turn off new people that happen make their posts in R or IB.

I agree with azn, it'd be nice to have a simple 'news' section where general news could go [weird, serious, dumb, etc]. Seems like a good idea to me.

I dont think a new section would do too good in my opinion. If I or anyother person wanted to watch the news whats too stop me or them from turning on the TV and watching the actual news? Now a weird news section might be fun. The jesus's weird news posts were very interesting. But at the same time I notice they didnt get many replies/attention. A news section would be a shot in the dark ( if you will ).

I agree, regular news for your area doesn't really matter to anyone else outside of your area so you might as well turn on your tv and watch. As for the weird news - you don't see this kind of stuff much and by just posting it in the random forum would be fine.

I support the idea but, there would have to be a defined set of rules for it. A section for serious discussions on news events like the conflict in Georgia or the Darfur genocide. While having another section for humor/non serious topics we can laugh about like the blow up doll mistaken for a body.
