What is MOTEMOTE?

Hey you guys! So I've seen Jacob said something about MOTEMOTE, sounds like a contest or something, but I don't really know what is that, so, I know it's a little bit dull of me, what exactly is MOTEMOTE? Thanks in advance.

For a minute I forgot what it was. Its been at least a year since they had it. But seeing as your a new user I'll tell you. MOTEMOTE is basically a battle between female characters of anime and manga to see who is the most popular. Two girls are pitted against each other and people vote for who they like the best. To see how the last tournament went you should look at the Battle Images topic on the top of the Random board.

Bitches, bitches and more bitches in the battle for supremacy.

Unfortunately no fighting is involved though. Two female anime girls are pitted against each other, and you've got to vote for the one that you would fuck if she were real.

Getting back on topic, as some of the members have mentioned, MoteMote is a contest whereby female anime characters are pitted against one another. Users of the Fakku community get to vote for their favourite character.

It is a one-on-one battle and the winner proceeds to the next round, until the final champion is announced.

The above is based on my memory of past installations of the MoteMote contest.

Essentially it's Saimoe, with the twist of people not only voting for their favourite characters but actually predicting the outcome of the entire event in the form of self-made brackets. Who's the closest to the actual result wins, yayness.

Then how are we going to participate?

By voting, I guess?

That, and as said by nacho above, by submitting our brackets before the battles start.

So, it's basically just a female version of something like the Gamefaqs Character Battles?

Couldn't say, never seen any of those.

MoteMote owns pretty much everything else outside of FAKKU that is similar to it.

What benefits do we gain from this "battle" ? And how can we submit our brackets? Also, when will it start and do I need to check the forums regularly, 'cause I don't really have much spare time X_X

I'm sure there will be a front page post explaining things when the time comes. As for submitting brackets, there has usually been a special page for that. Just wait and see, it'll be most likely a big enough announcement.
