Anime upload section got removed too.So will the next section to be removed and clean be the vn or music...
man i swear soon as i put time into trying to help ppl it gets wronged i hate copyrights!!!
i remember the good old days were dubbing was allowed.
I hardly doubt that copyrights are shit, there are perfectly normal, i mean i don´t think that anyone who created something, with which he is trying to make money, wants his work to be ripped off.
the problem is that most japanese companys aren´t really active in the international market, since hentais and animes don´t have that much of a world wide presents.
so most companys don´t even know about their stuff being uploaded and shared. i only know that pixy is actually concerned about, that since the distribute their stuff via paied DL as well.
the only problem is when an anime gets licensed and therefor gets a copyright even in the usa, so naturally those companys that licensed the anime will try to shutdown any links or illegal distribution ofcourse.
and since the whole uploading thing is actually total illegal in the first place, we need to make sure that copyrights issuses, that are directed to fakku, are dealt with, which brings me to a new sugesstion.
how about having a list of all companys that fakku got copyright complaints from, with this list we then regulary need to check if there are any new animes that have been licensed.
so the list could be devided into japanese copyright complaints and us copyright complaints
as for the japanese ones, any anime, hentai and so on by the company are forbidden to upload. so far i only know that pixy stuff is forbidden, but there might be more companys
as for the us ones, there would be the need to check which animes, hentais and so on have lately been licensed so that they can be removed.
of course us one would require more effort, since someone needs to check all new license issuses and remove topics.
however this could also be divided into smaller fragments, e.g first split into anime, hentai, vn and so licensment -> if there is a new license, the person responsable will be informed (perferable the mod of the section) -> the mod then removes the topic and informs the creator of the master list, to change the list, and the topic creator as well.
it might also be a good idea to retain a list of all the stuff that has been licensed, so that there is always a uptodate not-to-upload list for users to look into.
having said that i hardly doubt that this would be a thing that would be realistic, since i don´t know any way to obtain information about the latest licensments, other than asking to companys themself that is. however by asking the companys themselfs, this would show the good will of fakku and so fakku proably wouldn´t be bothered by copyright issues anymore.
this way huge shutdowns, as the current one, would be prevented.
on a second note, the mod would also need to be reliable for maintaining order.

Is Fakku the only site to be hit with copyright notices? Other forums seem to be going on with their businesses normally...

>_<...theirs a big difference in scale. Also, technology has changed since then. Where one copy back then would be at least 1000 today. Also, things weren't so easy to get as they are today, since you don't even need to leave your own house now.
@animefreak usa I'm pretty sure those FBI warnings state clearly that you can't show it to others for screening other then to yourself and you need permission from the copyright owners to showcase it if you want to for free, but since I don't really read those...I'm not sure lol

That only pertains to movie theaters since you own that physical copy of the movie, but if you watch it in a group of more then let's say 10 people then your most likely paying to see that movie. What you do with your legal copy of anything is your own thing unless you profit or try to undermine the fair play rule.
I was going to re write my idea but im not sure on the legality of it yet so here a revised statement of my retardation youth
Spoiler:
Were a society that demands free access to data, is Piracy wrong or just the new form of Communal ideaism. That we demand a fair price of a service or product or in some i just want it free.. me it's the fair price... and i can't pay 500$ for cs5.. most of the anime that i get is either too expensive or you can't find legal copies. If i just went out and bought let's say the box set of gundam zeta or chobits and paid the 79 to 159$ price tag and didn't care for it then i just screwed myself of the cash for something i do like.. that why i torrent.. to preview and watch so i can see if i would wanta pay it.
I understand jacob's logic on getting rid of the problems so the whole site can be secured for the befit of fakku as a whole. And maybe get rid of the sections just because... but unless we for get.. manga and doujin are copyrighted materials too.
I don't see the circle or artist on the doujin front getting piss that their getting free advertisements for there works and eventual profit from western weebs going to comiket or some online site to buy the IRL doujinshi, but the big eromanga mags and artist might since their losing money because of piracy since it hit bookseller the most when their a free copy of something.. will the company send out C&D letters to fakku, neko or hentai from hell... probably not, but it can happen.

this whole thread goes into a direction which was never intented.
My only worry is that Fakku might end up like starbowbreak.cjb
Either way, this occasion was bound to happen someday,i am just surprised that it is this year.

Money makes all the difference in the world after all.

Same with blockbuster and video store.. they only pay for the dvd movie from the whole sellers and never paid or ask the movie company who produced it. i work at blockbusters when i was in high school and we just bought from the distributors company in LA. You can rent your movies out without asking the company because you own that copy of the movie.. if you make copies then your screwed.
meh how to do it..

Jacob wouldn't give up our names, and even if he did, it wouldn't do anything as they could contact us, but they would be telling us the same as jacob to take down the stuff.
Theirs not much to worry about as it's the standard take it down stuff, so as long as we listen and do as they ask, then we're fine. When it comes to them telling and demanding us, and by that I mean their not so nice about it anymore is when we're screwed. I've seen some take down orders from nice to going down to mean and backing it up with the law, so...

Well if you're talking about the hard-copies then yeah. The dvd though is copyrighted for home use, so the rental contact is also only for home use, any other form of viewing is illegal.
@MigZilla Keep in mind they go by that because it's lose lose for them. Even if they took legal action, by the time they won and if they got the max fine, they would have still loss more money in legal action then make in the fine. It would also be a blow to their rep. They would only take legal action if it's more costly if the take down orders are ignored. Normally though their not.

is there any chance that the video section will be back again or we lost it forever? although there's always other site but to me fakku is like a GPS to know which hentai was good or bad coz the people that uploadin it always give some synopsis about the whole story

As for when it may come back, your guess is as good as anyone else unless Jacob wants to give us a time frame, but since theirs alot of crap to sort through, probably not for a while. A shame too since alot of stuff came out and alot of other series just got subbed too.

At this point in time, I would like to recommend a video section mod to at least keep some check into the section so as to prevent this or at very least try and prevent this. I know Jacob doesn't like the idea, but when it comes to the point when it gets shut down to the public, maybe it should be thrown out on the table for consideration. Also if you consider it, I would like to suggest Lazy as a candidate, since lazy is willing and keep tabs on the video section already.Back when the video section only had like 7-10 pages worth of material,
When I was in full swing uploading many H-videos, I too had this idea. I have slightly retired from uploading H-videos since a great portion of my videos were later removed. As timed passed many became licensed.
The videos section really does needs a MOD to keep tabs on licensed and unwanted videos. So we the public in general dont suffer from things like an entire section being shutdown. Someone who can be online and is dedicated would be a great candidate.
We can have an open poll to choose a candidate, give the public a chance to nominate the mod and admin have the final word on it. Eranox or LAzy come to mind as it appears they have spent alot of time in the video section uploading and organizing Master-list/videos.
