Ads and Raising Money

You may have noticed different ads displaying on the site over the past few days. I am trying to find the best way to generate some money without intruding on your experience with FAKKU. We really need another server to improve things 10 fold around here, and we have just barely been breaking even with costs for far too long. And I would love to give some money to the translation team for all their hard work, but these are all things I haven't been able to do.
Being an adult site we can't just use Google Adwords which I would like to, so we have to settle for crazy adult ads that are horribly unpleasing to the eye when browsing the site. It's a trade off between you having a good experience here, and the site making money.

i've got a few ideas to help raise some cash for FAKKU
first of all, changing downloads from megaupload to either Deposit files or easyshare since you can make money from those sites without buying a premium membership like megaupload with some other factors involved too though deposit gives 5 dollars for every 1000 unique download and i know a lot of people download Fakku doujins
and another would be to have FAKKU all join a Pay to Click site, something like bux.to, basically it's like clicking on adds and combining hundreds of pennies together
i think these ideas can work, since no one would need to actually put any money into this, just lots of effort really. i can explain more about some of these ideas

But every time I have to download a file from there I die a little inside. You have to go through like 12 pages and wait 60 seconds, and sometimes it won't even let you download the file.
Good suggestion though.

To be quite honest, I would love to send some cash. Right now I am between jobs and the money I make on the side goes to my child support. If you want to hit up my e-mail and let me know how to use paypal, when I get back to work I would love to help out. I am sorry I cant do anything right now, as it sounds you could use it. The same old Song for every free Site. Personally i dont mind the Ads as for they pay the Website costs. However only having the Ads on your Website doesnt mean anyone will click them. You should remember the community from time to time to click on them

I don't know if it is an idea I would like to see the light of day, but what about having the ads for everyone, unless they are "vips"- and it either costs a bit (time periods and such I don't know) to become vip or you must be promoted by staff (ex. uploaders for this). You gotta be careful with this though since many sites that start free and get this end up being almost exclusively a pay site.
Or for every five (or other number) doujins you have one of the click pages ("click one ad to help the site") to help ensure some ads are clicked on. Maybe even just a page that displays a large ad and the user need only click continue.

hmmm...well if you do decide to sell shirts i wouldnt mind having it say fakku in the front and some very suggesting hentai in the back(tentacles for lolz)

Thanks Jacob, the random porn sites with real people doing the nasty was really disturbing me and interfered greatly with my ability to download manga with incest/underage/rape/beastiality themes for free. :roll:

It wasn't so much the random porn ones that people were concerned about, it was the Clicksor ones. It made random words links that would pop up when you moused over them and they sucked.
