It's great that you're putting the extra effort into making the print books as good as possible, especially when I (and probably others) are just happy that it's even getting an official release.

$33.09 is the total cost with shipping that I paid for mine. I guess the further away from the source (USA) you are, the higher the shipping cost.

It's quite clear that you have no idea what you are talking about. $33 has been mentioned by someone here as the price including shipping, the book itself is $19.95, a pretty standard price comparable to other publishers but with much higher quality than standard English manga releases. And one small logo is certainly not "Fakku written all over". Show me a manga that does not have the publisher's logo on its back.

The book is $20 + $3 shipping. And they are not "remaking" the book, they got permission from the doujinshi company to use their pre-censored material (in the case of Renai Sample). What has been shown so far from the samples indicates that they're putting a lot of time and care into recreating the quality that one would get by buying the Japanese copy. Putting "FAKKU" watermarks as some groups love to do on their releases would not only piss off buyers, but would probably kill their business. It would be idiotic to put that in the digital and physical release.
As far as DMCA is concern, I'm not sure if Fakku has been complying to every DMCA take down notice or if Wani was the only exception because of the interest in making a deal. The digital release is DRM free so even if Fakku sent DMCA take downs it'd still be pretty easy to obtain if you really didn't want to pay for it.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't. When this deal was first announced, there was just as much complaining from people who feared they'd pull a Crunchytroll, purge all uploads, and pretend the past never happened. In the end, the other Japanese publishers are turning a blind eye towards this, allowing content that has not been licensed to build a fanbase and letting us enjoy content they aren't interested in giving us in a legal way anyway, at least not at this time. I'm sure quite many of us have bought this book exactly because we had already read it and loved it. Keeping the existing scanlated uploads until a possible takedown request will only help build their popularity.

Sample google search i found seven sites with full tanks. Lazy people complain. Buy or not. Someone is gonna released it on the torrent sites soon after. Even Jacob said it going to happen. Plus there no watermarks.

Ugh...I'm completely torn. I *REALLY* want to buy the book, but I can't justify the ~$150 shipping cost (I reside in a small country that's on the other side of the planet). Are there any shipping alternatives?

You should talk to Jacob since there no way that right for a book. Unless your wanting over night delivery to mars.
