Neat to see it animated, but they cut out a lot of the nuance that made the VN cool. For example In fact, Shirou generally did much better in this movie, as far as the fighting goes, than he did in most of the VN. As I recall he was barely hanging on throughout almost every fight in this route.

They also cut out... well... everything that wasn't fighting. Understandable, given the time constraints, but it was a bit awkward to see many, many hours of dialogue and character development condensed down into a few lines in between sword wank 1 and sword wank 2.

Also, we all know why Rin was *really* crying after the... ahem... ritual.

Fantastic animation but... well, the movie is less faithful to the VN than it's anime counterpart. I showed some friends the anime and had to do little explaining. With this movie, I showed it to the same friends, and had to point out things throughout the entire movie, because they kept asking questions.

I hate to say it but... I didn't really care for the film. ^^; No disrespect to those that do, the animation really is superb. I don't know, I think this would have been a better OVA than a movie. I hope that's how they do Heaven's Feel.

I guess that's what happens when you condense thirty-six hours of reading into a ninety minute movie? ^^;;

Well, to each his own, although there was much taken out, and it did lose a lot of its emotional impact because of it, I honestly felt it was nice to see some scenes animated rather splendidly.

But I will respect your opinion, as strangely worded as it may be to me.
