New Forum Feature!... Image Topics!
Now on when creating a new topic on the forums you have the option to upload an image that will be displayed at the top of the topic and it will be thumnailed on the forum page. Use it however you like, I'm excited to see it in action. This is all thanks to Hark, who came up with the concept and was gracious enough to let us use it here on FAKKU.
After three months of tough completion, Kallen has become the MOTEMOTE champion! Once we get things sorted out we will be announcing the winning user and probably show off their prizes in a news post. And perhaps we will have some type of Kallen themed update to commemorate her win?
Plus we decided to have a special battle between C.C. and Haruhi for third place. I feel both of them deserve another chance in the spotlight.
You will notice me tweaking things around the forums over the next few days. Lots of little layout and font changes, if you end up having an issue please post in the feedback and suggestions forum. I unfortunately don't know how my changes will effect everyones browser/operating system combinations, so for some people things might get broken. And if you don't like the changes, or have some ideas on ways to improve them, post and let me know.
I have decided to remove signatures from the forum posts. The reasoning behind this is that it has become difficult to differentiate between the posts and the signatures, and the pages have become quite cluttered displaying both. The easy solution was to remove signatures and have them display in user profiles instead. I think this makes a lot of sense as the user profiles should be a place where users "build" profiles. I realize this is a big change and some of you will not be happy about it, but overall I think this will drastically improve the forums in the long run.
That being said I will be adding a lot of features that allow for users to customize their profiles in a wide variety of ways. So if you have any ideas or things you would like to be able to do, let me know.

Anyway, good work Jacob! I like the improvements (they seem to work in Opera anyway). I suppose I can understand what you did with the signatures. There have been a few people with huge sigs thanks to image insertion. I look forward to the possiblity of customizing my profile in the future.

I dont have a sig but usually when this problem comes up the admins limit the size and pixels of a sig... I don't really mind but just sain...

I do like what you did to the forums Jacob, now it looks more cleaner and less crammed. Also with the image option for the topics, it does look interesting and it gives more of an appeal for me to look at posts now :lol:

Honestly, I didn't even notice the sigs were gone.the signature is still there. go to your profile,you will be able to see that. an error occured last night. i've reported it to jacob

I'm not too sure about getting rid of the sigs for everyone. I may be a bit biased seeing as i make them, but i never really saw any problems with page flow. People enjoy having that little bit of a personal touch, a signature, that distinguishes them from everyone else on each post. Sure, we still have the avatar, but it's no where near the same thing. I personally think a forum looks plain, boring, and lifeless without them and just becomes nothing but constant boxes... might as well be 4chan or any others of that type XD
In the end i guess it don't really matter, just me being picky... maybe depending on how we can edit profiles i'll just have to make people images for that =P

Even though I like signs, the forum sure looks cleaner without them. Dunno... I think it's cool if a majority has it, but if only a few use it, and even use large signs, then we're better without them.

sigs aren't gone they've just been moved to your profile to save people time and space while on a topic. with this little move of sigs to your profile that means more people will be looking at your profile to see your sig giving you the chance to edit your page and have people go "wow thats really unique" instead of oh thats just a sig
