Otakon... One Week Away!

I am excited. Otakon is only a week away! This is my first time going to this particular convention and from what I have heard it is pretty awesome. How could I not be excited? Mell, who did the awesome Engrish Black Lagoon OP will be performing!
If you are going and you see people walking around in FAKKU! shirts be sure to stop and say hello, it will surely be one of the admins! I'll make sure to take a ton of pictures for those of who can't go to the convention.

I know I dont post much, but i've been here on this site for a little over a year now, and I love it. :) Mainly though for the excellent stream of constant updates (great job FAKKU!).
Anyway, this is going to be my first time attending Otakon, as well as my first time really traveling this far (I live in California xD). Im not just going for the experience though, im going to go and meet up with a special someone of mine for the very first time. I cant wait. ^^
Anyway, if I see any of you guys there, i'll be sure to drop by and say hello! Aaand maybe buy a shirt. ;) We'll see.

ah, I must say, Otakon is a difference experience each year with the japanese bands.
Last year rocked when Jam Project was there. They were just amazing. They really know how to get a crowd going even when they don't know english too well. Tho I can't say the same for a few years back when Nana Kitade was there. She kinda sucked on stage.
Come to think of it, the Anime Music Video contest are also different each year. Some years they're really good to experience, other years they just suck. Last year's Anime Music Video contest kinda sucked.
Too bad I can't go this year, I'm tight on budget and I need to concentrate on getting my CCNA certification before I go looking for a new job. Maybe next year.

Third year this time. I'm ashamed to admit, but I missed all the big events of the past two years. Mamiko Noto and JAM Project, that is. :(
Crispin Freeman this year is pretty awesome, as is Kikuko Inoue. Mangagamer having a booth is also welcomed.
Can't wait to go once more.

i want to wear my hen-tie shirt, but i don't want to be mistaken as a admin (would seem kinda arkward)
maybe i should forget the idea of wearing the shirt entitirely ._.

First time heading to Otakon, seeing the people of Fakku is my main reason to head to Otakon, 2nd reason is going there with some of my friends (who have gone before).

2nd otakon for me and I planned to go again since september, I'll make sure to look out for Fakku as I am also planning a meet-up for a large amount of people.

I'm there ... it'll be my second time, will look out for the Fakku table in the Dealer/ Artist room.

I went there a couple years ago and had a great time. I was hoping to go this year but couldn't work up the funds to do so.

This is going to be my 6th Otakon. I think you'll definitely enjoy it. It might be a little overwhelming if you're mostly used to smaller conventions. Definitely bring lots of money, the dealer room is roughly the size of an American football field if not larger. I burn an average of $400-500 every Otakon not including hotel fees.
On a mildly related note, I actually ran into someone wearing a hen tie shirt at Tekkoshocon in Pittsburgh in early April. I actually wanted to order one, but by the time I had money my size was sold out.

ill be going with my friends. one will be dressed as colonel guile and one as dan. I guess im excited to see the first EVA OVA that will be showing in english. also gonna get a commission of Ranka based off of the T2 picture, cept she will be holding her cell phone (thing) instead of the microphone
