do you think that to accept you for who you are is a compromise.

As in

Accepting your appearance or your personality. Confirming it or saying that's just how you are.

Do you think that's a compromise.

Its said that life is made of compromises.

Like

you didn't go for a promotion or ask for a raise because you are ok with how things are/ or that you don't think you could get it. Aka a compromise.

they say life is made of small and large compromises

well thats how i see it

and thats what im asking what you guys think

i was thinking, the guys who dont make compromises are the ones who strive for greater things in life

I don't think you know what a compromise is.

A compromise would mean that the two sides makes an agreement by giving up parts of their original plan to give both sides an outcome they can agree on. So if I think my life suck and just accept that it does and goes on with my business, it's not a compromise. A compromise would need my life to come down and "meet me halfway" so to speak.
So if I say "My life suck, I want to be a superstar" and my life says "No, you should grovel on the bottom of society" a compromise would make me end up somewhere in between, depending on how much my life is willing to bend it's original idea of me groveling on the bottom of society and on how far away from "Superstar" I'm willing to end up.

tl;dr I don't think accepting yourself as you are is a compromise, I think it's accepting yourself as you are. A compromise needs to sides.

i dont think a compromise needs two opposing sides to agree on something

it does in a way mean "meet me half way" but i think its more like "if thats the best i can get, i'll settle"

im sure you just see the definition of the word differently then i do

compromise has dual meaning, you're both right.

you can compromise your integrity and you can make a compromise with a rival.
