It's especially irritating if your teacher is trying to show a video of something informational.

Adblock is a useful tool.
It won't remove in video shilling but I can hardly blame "content creators" for trying. Making a living of ad-sense and youtube, a company that owes them nothing and can change their policies on a whim, must be nerve wracking.

I just hate how they act innocent and friendly but as soon as YouTube changes a feature, or glitch that affect views/sub they blow it out of proportion saying 'End of youtube'
Also the Patrion, and sponsor videos are weirdly promoted on most channels_

If I said it was for the kids you would be watching all the 30 minute adsNo we wouldn't.
No one ACTUALLY gives a shit about random children they don't even know, they just say they do to sound morally superior.

I have adblock, which helps. I can't skip it on the mobile, but it doesn't phase me that much. I'm happy to support the channels that put out good content.
I'm also not overly fussed about the ones who have in video sponsor messages. Adblock is pretty much the reason the ads have gone from 5 seconds to 30 seconds unskippable and then in video promotions. A lot of the channels treat the content creation as their job, which does work out well for them. But, with how broken youtubes system is, it's also very easy to not be viable. There was the whole reporting for no reason thing that took away monetisation, with no possible way to appeal (which is still happening iirc). Patrion is another way people have gone to get funding to support their channel without having to do ads/ in vid ones or massive ones.
But yeah, it doesn't really phase me, just as long as the content is worth, and the creators are decent, I'll watch it/ support

Advertisers would have gone from 5 seconds to 30 seconds regardless of people trying to block them. It's all about creating ads as long as possible without negatively affecting your public image.
