This isn't true though.

Maybe in Greece but every restaurant i even ate at was shit to meh. Even the greek church's greekfest food sucked balls. Baklava is ok. Ouzo is like jagger filtered thru a old cum sock from the 70's.

Gonna be an interesting few weeks following this. I think everyone was expecting a "No" vote so it's basically waiting to see what the Germans will do about it. Greece is fucked no matter what happens so I'm mostly curious of how hard they're gonna take it and up what end.

Greece is playing a game of chicken with EU, IMF and who ever gave them money. They hope they blink before they are forced to blink, or maybe they are serious about trying to live on their own, which more than likely makes a bad situation even worse.

And so, having rallied the Greek people with his ebullient anti-austerity rhetoric, Yanis Varoufakis rode off towards his real dream: selling more hats for TF2.

It's understandable that they would feel that way once you take a careful look at the circumstances surrounding their economic demise. Plus, they've been getting interest from boys like The Pirate Bay, a few well known leakers and other entities who, combined, may actually have the abilities and wealth to create a self-sufficient, independent nation.

I don't really understand what you mean by a "self-sufficient, independent nation". Like, North Korea is the go to for "we are beholden to nobody" rhetoric of nation-building and they're not only very poor because of it they're also totally reliant on China. Or do you just mean in the sense of functioning outside the eurozone?

I think he just meant functioning outside the eurozone. I don't think they're going to shut their doors like North Korea.

North Korea is also a dictatorship; an independent, democratic and privatized nation would function much differently, so trying to compare the two is fairly inane.

I am referring to functioning outside the eurozone, without being a member of groups like the IMF and denying banking institutions from establishing a presence.
