Another Doujinshi site to buy from
0
I hope this isn't considered advertising
So I've been trying to find alternatives to buying doujinshi online besides ebay, doujinrepublic, and mandarake but recently I've found this website called buydoujinshi.com (used to be called Kawii desu).
I've been looking through it and I guess they would be considered a proxy as they order and buy it from places like Toranoana and Melonbooks then ship it to you with a small commission fee.
So has anyone tried ordering from these guys? because I'm really tired of paying premium prices for doujinshi that's almost 30 or 40 dollars even though I could buy it from this site for a lot lot cheaper.

For what it's worth I just placed an order with them for some C91 Doujinshi.
When it comes in I will let you know how well it was packed, as well as any and all precautions they took to make sure my Doujins arrived in an acceptable manner.
Also I did a full price check between them and DoujinRepublic and no lie DoujinRepublic would have been $120.00 USD more.

Wow, thanks! Hope yours comes in soon!
My last order with Doujinrepublic cost me about $140 for 7 doujinshi that I really really wanted. Now that I look back on it I definitely overspent money, but I have no regrets on it since it's what I wanted and also because it is EMS shipping.
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you spend on your purchase? including the shipping and commission fee?

10 Doujins $106.20 for the whole shebang, and I will say this again cause it's so big, I put the exact same 10 Doujin in my cart on DoujinRepublic and the price was $120 more.
They are all C91 Doujins so they won't ship until january.
So hopefully I receive them mid to late January.
Once I do I will let you know about shipping times, and the conditions of all the books.

Wow, you must've bought all the good doujinshi for C91. Gotta say that is a huge huge difference. Again, thanks for the info on the price difference.
I'm hoping to buy a huge bulk of my favorite circles in one order for dirt cheap.

I received my shipment, I had placed a second order almost right away so I had them combine the shipments together to save on shipping a little bit.
Customer service:
I had exchanged several emails with them, when you check out you have the option of checking a box to cancel your entire order if one or more of the items is not present, or you can ask for customer service to follow up with you to correct the situation.
They are extremely fast with her email responses, one of my items from melonBooks was sold out, and before they even told me about it, they already located at Toranoana, and they had the adjusted shipping quote ready because you have to pay domestic shipping with toranoana purchases.
Speed To Ship:
They actually have a melonbooks located in their city so you don't pay any domestic shipping, they can just go to the store and pick it up when it arrives. However melonbooks shipped the Doujins internally and they ship them at snail speed so I takes a while for all the Doujins to arrive at melonbooks. On the other hand the Toranoana Doujins arrived very fast and they were ready to ship right away. However if you order a lot from Toranoana then they won't charge domestic shipping.
The packaging:
All the Doujins were placed on top of an overly large piece of cardboard, a thin piece of construction paper was placed on top, and it was wrapped in Saran Wrap and another piece of cardboard was placed on top of the Doujins. That was all held together by tape wrapped around the two cardboard pieces.
The cardboard was larger than the size of the Doujins, so if there was any movement inside the box the cardboard make contact. The packaging is not as secure as DoujinRepublic, however is more than sufficient.
I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions let me know.

Wow, lucky you got yours. I'm still waiting on mine, I ordered mine on January 4th. Yea I emailed them a few questions and they responded really quickly so communication is no problem. I ordered 9 doujinshi and 2 tankoubons so mine is gonna take a awhile, hopefully mine ships by this week.
Thanks for all the info on their shipping and packaging.
So exactly how long did yours take to arrive? And since you just got yours, what's your opinion on them? Cuz I got most of the doujinshi I wanted for a cheaper price and 2 tankoubons and I paid about 128 including EMS shipping, so compared to my purchase from Doujinrepublic I saved money and got more stuff from buydoujinshi.com
I think without a doubt I'll probly use this site for my doujinshi and hentai tankoubon purchases once mine comes in.

Well after it shipped it only took 3 days to arrive, it shipped out Sunday (Japan), so it was Saturday (New York). I pre-ordered all my Doujins early before Christmas, including the second order. So I assume I was higher up on the queue, so overall I would think it was fine.
Fun Fact #1: I actually placed a C91 Doujin order from DoujinRepublic way back in November and that order arrived back on January 3rd.
As for my opinion, except the longer waiting periods for items to ship I think they are great. Easily a 8/10,
The website is ultra slow, anf the waiting to ship are the 2 missing points for a perfect 10/10
So they will be my go to for all new stuff, but for older stuff I will still have to use DoujinRepublic.
Fun Fact #2: sometimes when you buy from certain stores you receive special gifts and I am happy to report you still do even through Buydoujinshi, cause I actually ended up with 3 signed (digital Signature) clear files because of some of my purchases.

WHAAAAAAAAA!? From Japan to New York in 3 days.... wow that's blazing fast shipping. Hopefully mine is that fast, I live in California.
Yea the waiting to ship time does seem pretty long. I checked their facebook page and it seems their located in Hokkaido.
And yes the website is slow, some searches have to be pretty specific and it gets annoying but I think its sort of worth it. Yea looks like they have more newer stuff so I guess doujinrepublic is best for the older and rarer doujinshi.
Of the sites I used Toranoana, Melonbooks and Surugaya. I did buy from all three but I sort of regret buying from Toranoana because of the domestic shipping fee but the only reason I bought from their is it had two doujins I really wanted. Melonbooks is great, and I did buy enough doujins from Surugaya for the free domestic shipping.

I am going to jinx myself here, but so far all the EMS shipments I have ever gotten from various sellers have all arrived in 3 business days.
I actually found everything that I REALLY wanted from Melonbooks, and because of that one Doujin that was sold out I had to pay domestic shipping from Toranoana but I really wanted it so it was cool.
You know I never even checked Surugaya, I will probably take a look at what they have this weekend.
Toranoana seems to help some older stuff, but still not a lot older.

So, I guess the main sites to use are Toranoana, Melonbooks, and Surugaya. The person who replied to me said some people buy 40-50 doujins for less than 500 yen from surugaya so I might look for those kind.
I did try a few of the other sites like CQ-web and Fromagee but couldn't really find anything good. So those three sites are the main one to use I guess.
Anyway thanks for all the info!

So just got my package today. It shipped on Jan 29, but it came pretty fast to Cali in 3 three days and a couple days for customs.
As for the shipping part... well it felt brutally slow and I asked them about it and they said bcuz of C91 there were a lot of preorders and the shops had alot of orders to fill for those on the list so mine took awhile to reach their warehouse.
Packaging was decent and I got everything in one piece so can't complain, although next time I guess I'll order all doujinshi or all tankoubons instead for better shipping.
Damn, if I knew how to do the image link thing I'd love to post a pic of my haul.

Happy to hear you got yours, and I agree better to have a big order all at once cause the shipping always annoys me to no end.
As for uploading images go to an image uploading site like imgur
You don't need to make an account, just upload your image then copy the image link, make sure you pick Direct link when you copy the URL.
Then come back here and click the icon 3rd from the right, the one that looks like a mountain, and just enter your URL image.
I am waiting to get Metamorphosis before I post my full collection in the Hentai Collection Thread

Close right now you are posting this:

It should be slightly different and end in .jpeg

This was http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2017/05/1486171641-img-0721.jpeg
Also I tried uploading to Imgur just now but it was not working for me, so that's some other kind of glitch.
You can also go to Noel Shack, but The Who,e site is in French but really easy to use, just hit the red button.

Damn you were right about shipping, it's annoying me to no end too...
Also I'm having a bit of a dilemma on this month's haul. My order for this month is gonna be either all doujinshi or all tankoubons but I can't decide which to order. I really wanted to buy more tankoubons but the shipping gets expensive but I do sort of get more books for my money since I can't get it elsewhere. As for doujinshi I saw I can buy at large amount for a really good price from melonbooks and surugaya.
So here's a rundown.
-Tankoubons each book is about 1000 yen but shipping is a bit expensive but I can get books cheaper than Doujinrepublic.
-Or should I buy more tankoubons to even out the shipping.
-Or just buy a F!$K ton of Doujinshi since the shipping is cheaper on weight and I do get a lot of books

In my honest opinion, buy a F!$K Ton of Doujinshi, cause they doujinshi will disaster sooner rather then later.
Since such a small quantity is printed for sale it's best to get in on those first.
Regarding Tanks, unless you are ordering brand new releases where you get store exclusive extras, you can always buy those later.
I actually just order Aiue Oka's latest Wani tank from Melonbooks so I could get their store exclusive stuff.

So I was about to order over 28 doujinshi for a 100 bucks until I realized I really really wanted the tankoubons I wanted, so I emptied my cart and bought 5 tankoubons. Now if I bought the doujinshi I think the shipping would've been the usual 40 bucks so for a 140 bucks for over 20 doujins seems pretty damn great.
Buuut since i bought the tankoubons, my total was 72 dollars, and I'm still waiting on the shipping fee, which I feel might be over 30 bucks since EMS shipping is by weight. So I just wanted to ask how much did you pay for your tankoubon shipping? I put in two tankoubons and in total it came to around 50 bucks with the EMS shipping. Perhaps I should just buy tankoubons in smaller doses?

Actually so far I have only ordered 1 TankobÅn, and it was from Melobooks with the extras so that increased the weight.
Then I also had that shipped with a huge order of 60 Doujinshi.
The shipping for the 1 tank and 60 Doujinshi came out to about $65 USD

Wow 60 doujinshi? and I though buying over 20 was a lot....
Do you think the $65 shipping is worth it? I know its hard to buy that many doujinshi or tankoubons from other places but I keep having the mindset that it should be easier to ship overseas books. I know for $65 shipping your getting a lot of stuff but is worth it to pay all that shipping? I gotta stop being greedy about shipping prices and be thankful I can get that many doujins for a cheaper price than Doujinrepublic.
