Anybody else with a kanji username confused

I know:
Circle, public, map, tool, master, and live. I know a few more but those are the ones that come to me first. I need to get back to my kanji. I was really cranking through them. I haven't studied my Japanese for almost a month now.

I'm always confused when reading kanji. I only know about 17 symbols and I've never come across them. Which sucks since they're common ones.

Well all of those are common and do appear, but not all the time. The one for public comes up quite a bit though (if you're talking about å…¬). It depends on what you're reading about though. Usually when I learn a new kanji I end up seeing it everywhere.
