Honestly, all I hear from people in the states is K-ON!, Death Note, Bleach, Naruto, and maybe Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt.
Other than that, I don't hear much about other animes.

Yup, I walked into a Japanese book shop that's about 10mins away from where I live, I was going through the HOBBY JAPAN magazines and looking for some CDs to buy, and I overheard some people talking about K-ON, I wanted to shout "WEEABOO!!!!!".

It's a sad truth. I think one of the main reasons why we get people that are so obsessed with Bleach, Death Note, or Naruto is all due to the lack of variety. In my opinion anyways. I haven't heard much of K-on, though. That is surprising.

One reason why we need more variety in licensed material here in the states, or until they find more animes and mangas to read online, but it will always be the very popular ones that get found.

It was a month ago, I can't remember. Somehow, I felt embarrassed for them and myself, they were pretty loud and you could hear them throughout the store.
