Okay I DID THE RESEARCH and this is what I found...

These are original bloomers, and what many people consider to be bloomers.


Japanese girls wore a type of bloomers for PE as they wanted something easy to move in. Eventually, the bloomers (on the right) were replaced by a new version of PE shorts(Girl on the left), but the name stuck. They are still called bloomers even though they no longer resemble the original bloomers that come to mind in western cultures.
