Why?

I'm bored. This place is mostly dead now too. Might as well try and do something fun.

I have some ideas but they would exclude new users a lot.

I was thinking of using a point based system where your post + reputation would be your total amount of power points.
In order to claim your waifu(s), you can't exceed the power points. A waifus power points are determined the amount of google hits divided by 100 when searching your waifu.

Full name plus series=hits. Because half names and incomplete series name has more hits than complete.

A few things I thought of while working:

Changing the name to Poverty Waifu game.

Every person regardless of post count or years here gets 200 points.

Reputation points are locked as if first claim so no one can go abusing that shit. Your post count isn't locked but if you're just spamming Greet & meet, Random, dead sections, etc. etc. I will lock it personally for the offender.

Making a thread outside of CTFG/Random that gets actual conversation going and more than 5 unique posters gets you 100 points. An upper limit of points achieved this way is 300. You just have to post a link to the thread here and I will verify it.

First 3 posters of every round get to implement a discount rule for then next round. The discount is 10% on a specific waifu/husbando characteristic that can't be too broad or too specific. (i.e no, "all girl characters get 10% off" OR "all waifus residing in the Scarlet Mansion get 10% off"). Discount rules can stack. I must approve of the discount beforehand.
First discount will be announced soon...(because I haven't thought of good ones myself)

You can divorce... but NO refunds.

You can sell off your acquired waifu. This will incentivize people to get here first.
yes waifu nabbing is allowed. You just can't sell her off for more than 1.5 times her initial value.

Pity Clause, if someone claims a waifu you were claiming (and you have to have had enough points to get her), you get 10 pity points. The post have to be in between 5 minutes of each other though.

If you catch an error/typo I made, you get 10 pity points.

Every opening post must contain your waifu/husbando's full name, the link to the google search, and the amount of points you have before and after your purchase. If you're caught lying on the value (you can contest this), you won't get your precious waifu. And yes, like Freaky said, if you're smart and know how to work google, you can end up paying less.

This is getting more confusing. Can't I just claim my waifu without all this other hassle?

we need the pizaz, the excitement, we need the feel of buying people with money to make us feel like we are in a position of power but really we are random people behind a computer screen sticking around a forum for nostalgia and porn.

I'm not seeing a whole lot of interest...Quick raise of hands before tomorrow, should it just be the normal waifu game?(standard rules instead of my point system)

I asked Jack a while ago and he said he'd be back but it's super late already. It's already August, kids are going back to school soon, uni summer semester is wrapping up, shops are pushing office supplies in my face...

I don't know if that discount truly applies.

I only watched like 3 episodes of that garbage fire so I'm going to need verification on that discount.

I realize i mess up my math since it's 468 and not 4,680. Can i change it?

10% for anyone who has a merchandise for their next waifu. Not your homemade but actual official or con merch. Anime disks, doujins, figures, shirts, onahole, a piece of the VA hair... something bought.
