British comedy

Inspired by gentlemen topic; just in the hope that (some) Americans don't only like Monty Python, here are some of my favourite comedians.
Darker humour
Slightly friendlier humour:
I've left out some other greats just because it's almost 3am, feel free to add more. You can easily search for longer compilations + gigs in parts on Youtube; enjoy. :]

I know; I was doing other things, and my internet speed has dropped to the extent that a few minutes of video take about double that to load. Incredibly frustrating.

I don't just like Monty Python.
I'm a fan of Jimmy Carr, and I've liked what I've seen of the show Balls of Steel (the stunts of The Annoying Devil are phenomenal).

Sorry if I came across as a bit accusative; I just wanted to give a sample of all different types of comedy, seeing as very little probably gets over there.
Trigger Happy TV - Dom Joly masterminding tricks on the public. There was a US version after the British one gained some US success, but methinks it failed without him.
Spoiler:
Balls of Steel - was a group of unknown comedians competing to pull off extreme stunts.

Personally, I've always been quite fond of The Two Ronnies ("Four Candles", "Mastermind") and The Fast Show ("Rowley Birkin, QC", "Chanel 9 Neus") myself, and I am quite astonished they have not been mentioned yet.
Also, I do appreciate some of the output of the League of Gentlemen and Harry Enfield and Chums.
What consistently annoys me about British comedy, though, is the canned laughter. It often nearly ruins the actual humour.

I refrained from posting The Two Ronnies because I made a topic around the Mastermind sketch a few days ago; or at least, that was the logic last night when struggling with fatigue and a poor connection. League of Gentlemen is brilliant and had escaped me, and The Fast Show was fairly good but Enfield and Whitehouse comedy very much depends for me.
The canned laughter is a fair point, though. There are some good shows which avoid it, and some which are better for their live audiences, but that they're a refreshing change isn't the greatest reflection on the industry.

This thread needs more Neg's urban sportsI'd put one in the Balls of Steel spoiler, but yes. :P Problem is that program gets a bit tiresome, everything is so scripted.
