Buying Hentai

So a few years ago after watching tons of anime and hentai online and I realized I had nothing to show for it. Now being a adults with disposable income I decided to fix that and so I started buying. It took me a few years to get up the nerve to start buying hentai though.

So far I own
Dark love
Night shift nurses (only the first few episode, sadly)
Midnight sleazy train, all of it =D

Now buying even this amount wasn't easy though since I did it all in person. Does anyone have any interesting stories about buying hentai in person? What do you guys look for when you actually put money down for a hentai? Better yet how do you store your stuff, do you proudly put it on your book shelf or hide it under your boxers?

It all on a bookshelf in my living room.

I've imported a handful of stuff through shoppingmalljapan, but yeah. Haven't put them up on a bookshelf or anything, yet. Not sure what my roommate would think... haha.

I've got a few figures and posters up anyways though.

At Anime Expo this year I got a few doujins. 2 to-Love-ru doujins by Maniac Street (which are on Fakku btw) and a Touhou one by Dr. Vermillion. I also still have Velvet Kiss vol 1 from the Fakku Q & A last year.

I have them in plain brown folders in my desk drawer

even though online i'm very open about my love for hentai, outside i find myself being too embarrassed to go to the 18+ plus section of comic stores. however, i have began ordering some hentai dvds online

I just bought Love Selection a few days ago. I just ordered it from amazon, came in a few days. It's in a drawer in my room. It took me a while to buy it, like other people, it seemed a bit weird at first. But now that I've got it, I love it, it's a great quality product, and whilst I wouldn't proudly display it or anything, it's nice to start my own personal collection. It's for me, so it doesn't really matter if I keep it hidden from other people.

Are all of those manga? Do they blend into with your other books, aka no nudity on the spine of the manga?

Victim girls and the Futa doujin are all single chapter doujin in Japanese, Love Selection, A strange Kind of Women Take on Me, and Embrace & Bloom were bought from fakku, and well Dewdrops is a full CD case VN.

In buying hentai I do not have any interesting stories.

However, when I was moving through the customs area in the airport the security was alerted to my bag. Before my trip in order to keep my doujinshi safe I placed them on top of my belongings inside my bag. You can imagine my embarrassment when the security opened my bag to see two stacks of yuri doujinshi.

Do tell more. How was your poker face?

Two of my dakimakura covers got held up in customs, worked on a battle plan for 2 days to avoid paying any fees (because dayum, those things are expensive...), read way too much about tax law, practiced my speech and all, finally went in knowing that they could whip them out at any moment in a room full of officials. IIRC, they did open the package, but my memory's kinda fuzzy.

Was a 100% success in the end, got them without any fees whatsoever. They pretty much deserved it for taxing some doujins a while back because of some stupid technicality.

Besides losing my grasp of the English language I believe I did well. I only felt like dying for a couple hours after the incident.
