I think you make it out to be a bigger deal than it is. If you want to seem "different" then go ahead, but at least in Japan no one cares. I see many people wear them, young and old. Though they're pussies because one time I asked a girl I knew what was up with her eye and she said it was swollen, but when she showed me, it didn't look any different from her other eye. I really can't imagine that many people have serious eye problems that it warrants an eye patch, but I see these patches anyway.
