With jobs, you'd reach a threshold where you wouldn't be looking for one anymore. Also, in a typical situation, one full-time job would be enough. Even if you were a contractor, you'd probably not be looking for jobs say, right after you landed one or in the middle of your contract.

If you actually read what I wrote, I said "can," implying that people will overlook that threshold concept thing you're thinking and take on jobs for stronger financial support. There's a possibility (and it happens) that people will work multiple jobs.

Yes, a full time job usually do suffice for a small family. However, if only one person works in a family of 6, then that might not be enough to pay the bills. If no one else can work in that family, then it's up to that one person to get another job if they need more to pay the bills. This just hypothetical.

My post was meant to be as general as possible.
In general, people who have jobs are more likely at their status quo of jobs and therefore are no longer looking for them. If you fail and/or refuse to understand this point, then I have nothing left to discuss with you.

No, the fact that it was general is precisely why I wouldn't say something like that. Why in the world would I say, "Oh, I guess I could have added another conditional option that didn't fit the general theme I was going for"? I very specifically left 'job' out from the beginning.

I guess 7.9% (roughly 12.3 million people) of the workforce being unemployed isn't anything important. Not at all.
