[font=Verdana][color=green]I don't really watch TV...but if they work in some way, great. I have seen some, but they don't really have enough impact in my opinion. If you were to ask me, after the watershed, the scale of the adverts should increase exponentially.

well for myself, I detest such things in general. I get it you want people to stop smoking... but the way they do it is annoying to me. I mean its a person's choice to smoke or not. best you can do is try to get people to know the risks and be aware. but if people wanna do it let them. the way those anti-smoking organizations or whatever do is abominable to me.

Well, if you ask me, the best way for people to learn is to see what they are doing to themselves, and the consequences it will have on those around them. Looking at this purely economically, they provide our economy with a huge revenue. However, this will also come out at the other end; they will drain money from healthcare, welfare and similar fields.

to be honest if I actually liked smoking I would do it just to spite the commercials.
to let a person know what the risks are is one thing but what they do is annoying in a way.

[font=Verdana][color=green]Well, the watershed is the term used for the time when after the television programs are allowed to show more adult programs. By adult, I don't mean porn, I mean horror films or other things like that. For example, in my country it's 9pm.
With the watershed in place, adverts shown before it are more friendly and not as scary. However, in my opinion, as soon as that time clicks...truly scary adverts - literally explaining just how gruesome your death will be if you continue to smoke.
But tbh, that's a very immature viewpoint. "To spite the commercials"? No, you'll be smoking because you'll be addicted.
Also, it may be annoying, but it's the truth. If you don't annoy them, they'll never get the message.

well I never heard of it being referred to as "watershed" before. Then again over here Horror movies and the like can be shown in day time... I think it is more based on the region where you live.
It isn't meant to be a mature response to the commercials. And just because you smoke doesn't mean you will get addicted. Not everyone is affected by such things easily nor in the same way.
Not really, you can get your point across without being a complete ass or being annoying. I would say its more like hurting the cause if anything. I say let smokers smoke. It is their choice and have a right. While I am not saying that they should ignore rules and smoke around others who dislike it. I am saying if they really want to do it then we shouldn't stop them.
