You can try contracting a publisher.(doesn't have to be a manga exclusive publisher)
You can do commissions and sell prints of your work.(online and at conventions)

I'm sure there's more ways to get revenue.

It's also just a hobby for people, although there are plenty of cases where it evolved from that due to fanbases expanding.
