If the Quick Ball works, you don't have to. Or if it fails, there's always the Master Ball.

We just started our journey, we haven't done anything of worth for some random stranger to just hand us a 100% catch ratio pokeball.
Plus I don't have enough money to buy quick balls, since we aren't strong enough to be battling trainers and getting money.

Have to try your luck with a normal Poké Ball, then, since you have no Pokémon. Fire would be super effective against it, though...
