"Sing with me a song..."
Hoshido: "Of birthrights and love, the light scatters to the sky above. Dawn breaks through the bloom, white as a bone"
Nohr: "Of conquest and fate, the black pillar cracks beneath its weight. Night breaks through the day, hard as a stone"
Revelation: "Of silence and blood, the rain falls but can't wash away the mud. Within my ancient heart dwells madness and pride, can no one hear my cry"
in short what i understood without any knowledge of the routes, but my logical sense of symbolism
- Hoshido: False light within will be broken with rebirth.
- Nohr: The old will collapse and the darkness(Nohr) spreads
- Revelation: sins stay with us entire time, blood cannot be washed away. Madnes ensures
also
hard as stone = joke at difficulty?
What i understood, blood will be shed on all routes.
Revelation path will shed on both sides. Hoshido seems to be some backstabbing?
I don't think the birthright campaign has anything to do with false light or rebirth. Your thoughts about the conquest campaign are accurate though. I don't think they would make a joke in this song. Its probably more about their personality or it could even be heart as stone, considering in conquest your character has to harden their hard to commit atrocities that will eventually lead to his goal.
There is only one thing I could see as some sort of Hoshidan backstabbing but Im not sure that counts.
I think my ancient heart refers to the one singing, Azura This is a major line that worries me. We learn so little about Azura, maybe she is secretly some kind of villian?
overall though, pretty good interpretations.
I took the bloom as false light (aka glow) with the dawn being the true sunlight breaking through the glow. Backstabbing issue is the dawn breaking through the bloom aka the dawn gotten knifed in the back by the bloom, then dawn takes back what was taken from him.
On nohr side, i have to agree on harden your heart.
Thing is, you are going into a war. Hoping for sunshine and lollipops just asks to get your ass kicked. War isn't pretty and humanity has to take a second place.
Also, speaking of hardened heart.
black pillar cracks beneath its weight
Reference to your own hardened heart that crumbles under its own weight?
But in order to guess more I need to think more and gather more information.
Visiting a wiki i guess.
