how deep is it
i was thinking of redoing my pond to 2.5x3x1.5m but it going to 2.4x2.4x1m, simple becuase and going to raise the pond and the wood i ordered is 2.4m long and means less cutting for me, going to try and keep it simple.
@eve
maintenance it very simple, if you have alot trees, bushes then you will have pull the leaves out of the pond, but if you get everything set up right, all you will need to is clean filter once or twice a year and replace UV light once a year

it's 1m deep since the fishes aren't too big and for the maintance I change the water 2 or 3 times the year when it's so hot that the algae grow too much

at the moment am running a hozelock 3000 all in one which have the filter, uv light and pump in one unit and sit inside the pond and hozelock ecocel 2500 (had this before i redid my pond few years back)
the all in one pumps in to the ecocel.
i plan on adding a Oase Pontec Pondopress Pressurised Filter Kit
and plan on using all of them during summer and use the all in one during winter.

@Taz Does sounds simple! O:
King and queen, now, we'll climb the highest peak
And call it ours, paint the sky and burn the stars.
Lift me off the ground, we're gonna spin around 'till we collapse,
Burn the map stay where we're at
So let's dance across the line,
Say your love is mine.
We'll find somewhere to hide, we'll stay out of sight
Until we know everything is alright.
Baby, just keep searching, you're safe
Don't worry, we'll find somewhere to hide.

do not know what's my filter's name at the moment but during winter I remove it and let the pond freeze over because the koi get in sort of winter sleep and need the silence. So 3 years ago a neighbours kid threw a stone through the ice and a few fish died because of sudden agitation

I look after my granddads fish pond, he has a machine that sucks up the algae. Sort of like a vacuum cleaner for fish ponds. It's a real useful bit of kit.

i do turn my off, and disconnect the hose from the filter and submerged it, had it once freeze over and break the contention on the filter.
i get neighbours kids throwing stuff in all the time.
when my pond freezes over i like to make a small hole so the pond can breath.
@eve
all i do for my pond is remove leaves and rubbish that have got into the pond, swap UV light once year and clean filter once a year.
i do feed the fish but because i have pants in the pond and tried to make it more natural I do need to feed them all time as there is food for them in the pond, plus with goldfish, if it fits in their mouth the will eat, so any bug, insect that get in they eat them, plus they also eat the water lily.

the cheapest one i have found is £165, which i think is too expensive plus don't have the room to store it, maybe in the few years time.
i haven't looked after the garden for the last 3 years and it has gone down fill, planning on slowly redoing it. Gonna start with the pond and work my way round the garden

my garden has the driveway down the middle, and we have just had it extended so am left with a flower bed on one side, which just need the weeds and grass removed and new flowers added.
on the other side I'll just my pond up and tidy up the surrounding which should take most of it, I'll get my sister and some my friends to help out
