I have grown up with cats, the longest my family have gone without a cat has been 2 years.
Before my current cat we had a ginger one and a black & white one.

black & white was very friendly and one disappeared after that the ginger one started to be come semi feral and it came to a point where he would come home once a week.

The ginger was my baby, the both would sleep with me but the ginger one would let me pick him up and stroke him all the time but with others he would only allow that if he was at home and would not let them all the time and strangers where a no go with him.

His name is snowball and he's a white fluffy Persian with some grey so he's a mix. Doesn't have that grouchy looking cat face he's pretty cute and playful~ mostly bratty and stubborn ;~;

That's sad..why didn't you just lock him up when you left the house?

All our cats have been outdoor cats.
they would go out and come in they wanted, expect at night when they would stay inside.
There was always someone at home let them in.
my sister was planning on getting a kitten but mum said no.

the black & white one and the ginger one where stray cats that my cousin's would take in.
so we are not sure of their age but we had the ginger one for 13 years (he was the one i picked and was and is still my favourite) and the black and white we had for 7 years.

we also had this one cat when i was about 1-2 years old and my family told me that she would bite and hit everyone that touched her and would let me ride her like a horse and let me touch her

Indirectly are the mice that live in the walls of the house and the spiders (some get adopted by my niece even though they are scared of spiders)

then there is the cat that lives a few street away from me which i feed and play with when it comes to my house

nice.

also if the spiders ever hold a bake sale, buy something.
