I think with his speech recently, it's more pressure than anything. Also he used the words "could" and "at earliest" which people kinda missed.

Didn't really seem to take it seriously until he caught it himself...

Poor Americans have it worse, though, since nothing ever sticks to Trump, not even this virus. And so he'll never learn.
