but thei used to be like £10 but because of W11 they have gone upto like £50

Looks like apparently it is technically possible to avoid that requirement, but the bigger problem is the limited CPU support. Seeing how they only support 8th gen Core or better, my computer here is about 8 generations too old.

mine is 8 gen, but i will not be looking at upgrading
as the only way to get 11 is to login with windows ID
