why would it be locked, as long as the chat remains girl-centric i wont touch it, you can keep requesting the guys stay out but I am telling you its offensive and slightly sexist, it's not against the rules but it does leave a bitter taste in my mouth.I will let kuro explain his request, and if need be I can paraphrase it again if you need.
It's not offensive at all, that's like saying a guy's group at a high school or something is sexist.
The easiest way to counter this 'sexism' is to make a guy's chat thread, thereby each having 'privacy' to discuss our own matters.
excuse me, I can decide what I find offensive for myself, you analogy is quite poor as well. It's more like saying "you cant talk about hair because this is a conversation for girls only" which excludes my gender. The other "guys thread" was made to mock this thread, it's not serious at all. Please recognize trolling when you see it.
._.
Which is why I said "make a guy's chat thread", a serious one. It eliminates the sexism, and if one thread is being accused of being sexist after that, then the one's who are accusing are the one's being sexist against them.
Sorry to butt in on you two but, making another thread would only make things worse. As it would segregate our community even more.

Also, thing is, this thread is for girls. You're finding it offensive that you can't post in it? Well, you shouldn't, really, because it's clearly stated that only girls are allowed to post in itAnd that's why it's sexist!

Sexist is defined as an act of something that's done in order to make one gender seem superior to the other, or to make one gender feel inferior. Does this do either of that? No.

...quite frankly, I have no clue where I'm going with this. You're opinion is different than mine, arguement settled.
Now why would I do something like that Quad? I specifically said I don't like segregation; why would I want to make my own thread which only promotes that? Just so that Haburi's sexist request can be mimicked?
I don't understand, why should I not find it offensive? Because it's only for girls? that logic is as flawed as your analogy earlier.
You don't agree with me, that is a shame but it doesn't make my point any less valid or logical.
edit: also as my ealier post stated sexism can also relate to the exclusion of one gender, the inability to do something another gender can (voting or practicing medicine).

validity is determined by the person who perceives it. It's valid to you and others, it's not to me and others.

that is untrue, validity is determined by whether a point is true or logical, whether it makes sense or not. A feeling on the other hand is different.

Whoa, whoa. I thought this was a facetious thread. I didn't really think we were going to block anyone out. When I find the thread where we made up this silly idea, I can prove that maybe this went too far. When I seconded this club, I even wrote that it was okay if men could join, as long as they cross-dressed, but of course, this was a fun statement.
I really just wanted to connect with the females of the group, hit on them a little bit, and do real talking on Facebook or some other medium if I liked them and they liked me. My boyfriend is more comfortable with me being on Fakku this way. Even with the proliferation of pages, I didn't see trolling a problem, white-knighting a problem, guys posing as girls (because it's sad/funny), or any of that. It's not like edibleghost was going to go and hunt a real female down or anything and sepias was just trying to assert himself, too. Who cares? There was no formal topic at hand, so anything is fair game, right?
How did all this mess start?

Okay, let me correct that. The validity is determined by the decision that your fact is true/logical, which it may not seem to others. Which is why we have arguements.
If you said "This thread is being sexist. My opinion is valid, therefore true and logical.", You aren't making much sense. True, your logical opinion is valid, but a valid opinion isn't always logical. Just because you see it as sexist, doesn't mean everyone else does. Just because you see your opinion as true, doesn't mean everyone else does.

Wait, what? Are you a woman or a guy? Because you have a boyfriend yet you still hit on girls... I can only come to the conclusion that you are a woman. An unfaithful woman... YOU HARLOT!

Opinion is irrelevant. The fact is that this thread excludes men, discriminating against them on the basis of their gender. Regardless of intention, this is irrefutable fact. Because it discriminates based on gender, it is sexist (just like if a thread discriminated based on race, it would be racist).
Period.

It's not discrimination if it doesn't try to make a certain group feel bad.

Ah, and I found the link:

Hence, why Haburi said men can join as long as they cross-dress, but I didn't think it would be serious. I know a lot of girls aren't comfortable with posting pictures of themselves up here, and to make a guy do it to prove that he cross dresses would be a double standard. Something must have been lost in communication, and I don't think it's really a problem as long as we can clear it up.

This is IB, you can do whatever you want. Topics like this are 100% allowed.
The only reason the Filipino chat topic was removed is because FAKKU is an English website, and we don't want people posting in different languages and confusing everyone.
Incoherent Babbling was created specifically for topics like this.

Thanks for stating this, but we already pointed this out a while ago. It didn't do much.
Yet some people see it as offensive/sexist. <.<;;

It is discrimination, because you are barring a group of people from participation.
(albeit, ineffective)
Jim Crowe laws weren't meant to make former slaves "feel bad", they were meant to deny rights to this group which was "inferior".

But where in this thread does it say that males are inferior?

Yeah, this IB thread moved from IB into Serious Discussion really fast, with all these ethics being battled over and such. Not that I mind. It's a great read. I actually appreciate what's going on here, but I just don't want people cutting into each other or singling each other out over something that was meant to be harmless and all-inclusive. Things just got confused, that's all.
