Unsaid thought made me wonder...Does anyone take/use a type of birth control besides condoms? Reviews? Friend with good or bad experience?
How about no sex before marriage?
How about I'll fuck whenever I feel like it? Not everyone waits for marriage.
Besides, what about after marriage? Plenty of married women use birth control b/c they don't want to keep popping out baby after baby.
Well yes, I figured.. But as this country is a highly religion-centered country, the sex before marriage thing is considered to be quite a shame in here, so yes, it keeps it's people controlled like that.
Hmm.... How about those pills that will prevent you from got pregnant?

Somehow I 'm hoping at least Neko will have something to say...

Neko has something to say! Abstinence sucks!!!
Ok, serious time... I do use bc pills--have been using them since I was 19, so that makes it my 5th year on BC. I started out using Yasmin, then moved to Ortho Tri-Cyclen, then finally to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. All of those were fine with me, no serious ill effects--it was more of a price and insurance (or lack thereof) issue as to why I changed medications. I've been on the Lo version the longest though--3yrs now, and I get it free from Planned Parenthood. I seriously love that place--I go in, plead poverty, and walk out with 1yr supply of BC pills absolutely free. Or with a tiny donation, if I feel like it. The pills may be making my depression worse, but I'd honestly rather be depressed than pregnant.
I was planning on getting a Mirena/Copper IUD next month, when my BC pills run out. I'm pretty stupid about taking my bc pills on time, is why. ^^;; My friend had a Mirena, but said she had serious cramps with it, so she had it removed. My doc says it's a rather rare side-effect though. Another friend has the ParaGard copper IUD and loves it, except she says it makes her period a bit heavier than normal, which I don't like. I'm still trying to decide between the two, but Mirena is looking better for me because it makes your periods lighter.
I do read a lot of sex ed/medical publications, so if any of you gals have questions about a specific form of BC, just ask!

Neko to the rescue ❤ ❤
So I've been on the pill before, but it was the kind that stops you from having a period at all. TERRIBLE side effects for me. My body usually reacts to medication terribly, and I'm assuming items with hormones are no different. So I'm mostly trying to avoid that.
It seems like my only viable option is the copper IUD. But I'm a wimp and my friend told me it really hurts when being put in. Plus my periods are bad enough, so if it's going to make them worse, no thank you. Coupled with the fact that I've read some women still get pregnant with it, and sometimes the guy might feel it poking him, lol.
I also have a friend who gets the shot every three months. She loves it, but again with the hormones I'm just worried about the side effects. Plus, the torrential period you apparently get in between would suck ass.
For now, I think I'll be sticking to condoms, but I'm just trying to look into my options. If I had to try pills again, I would, but I'd rather avoid it.

What brand of pills did you try? If it was a two-hormone pill (estrogen and progesterone), maybe a minipill with just the progesterone would be better? IDK how that would react to your body chemistry though--it might still be bad.
Both my friends who have IUDs say the insertion process wasn't too bad. They nurse I talked to in PP said that it's best to put it in during the first day of your period so that the cervical opening is already dilated. Then again, both of them are also rather immune to pain, same as me. I'm guessing if pap smears hurt you, then the insertion of an IUD will probably hurt as well, but if not, then it's probably not THAT bad. Check back with me in about a month to see how that goes. ^^;
I hate injections, so I never even considered Depo. My mum was on it for a while though, but that is convenient coz my ob-gyn aunt used to do it for her. But that does have the two-hormone thing too.

Bug post for Koko-tan...
Nah, with the shots, you have to go to the doctor every three months to get them. That's another reason why I don't want them--who wants to see their doc more than once a year to be poked? Nope, not me.
Hand-holding would be nice for when they insert the IUD though. XD

I was on Lybrel. It's a combo, so you may be right. Is there a greater chance of pregnancy with a mini pill?
Definitely let me know about the copper iud. Pap smears are a little uncomfy, but not too bad. One of my friends has had the iud twice before and she raves about them. I'd consider it, but I'm totally afraid of doctors and medicines so it's a little scary x |

It's slightly higher for the mini pill--.5% vs .3% for the regular pill, assuming perfect use--but in practice it shouldn't matter as long as you take the pills consistently. The difference is that the mini pill has a smaller window for missing doses. If I miss my pill, as long as I take it sometime within the same day, it's fine, but for the mini pill the window is just 2hrs, iirc. If that's not a problem for you, the mini pill may be an option. I'm waaaaay too forgetful for that. DX
Another option would be to try a lower dose combined pill, or one that has a different synthetic hormone. A quick google says Lybrel has 90 mcg levonorgestrel/20 mcg ethinyl estradiol. My Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo has norgestimate instead of levonorgestrel, and has lower doses of both hormones. That may help, but still, talk to your doc. Pretty much all the combined bc pills use ethinyl estradiol, so if that is the hormone causing you problems, then the mini pill would be better.
