It's better than nothing, I guess. If it makes you feel any better, I treat my birthday like it's any other day. My gf and family always want to celebrate it, but I insist that they shouldn't. My friends are the same way. To us, it's just another day with the same significance as any other. Presents and celebrations don't make it any more special.

well, I take the day off for myself, mostly to answer family calls.
