Hard to find time nowadays...

Any of you fine people multilingual? I want to learn a new language so bad, but it's hard.

It's mostly just listening and usage, the former to understand the phonetics, he latter for vocab

Of course, it still isn't easy....

yeah 7 years of Spanish in American school doesn't get you too far lol

Funny, I spent 4 years in Mandarin classes and within two months of staying in Hong Kong, I learned about 1/3 of the equivalent level in Cantonese. Goes to show exposure is best.

I can speak Visaiyan, Tagalog, and basic German. I know a few users on here who can speak another language. Yuri's gf is a polygot.

I'm jealous of people who can just understand it, how did you learn the languages? Being aboard? Just a good school?

The first two are much like most of the other users on here. I was born in a country that doesn't speak English as a main language. Most of the bilinguals here are not from America. As for the German, I studied for years of it and spoke to many actual German students. My German's very basic, but I can hold a simple conversation if I really needed to.

Of course there are those who are just gifted and learn easily. Case in point, some of my cousins taught themselves languages such as Mandarin, Spahish, Italian, and Hindi. Another example is Yuri's gf as I mentioned. She can speak four different languages as of right now.
