[Locked] Fascinating/Creepy Imagery

After watching Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining", I've started to have a growing interest in eccentrically directed film and anime.
This is kind of a request, so apologies if this is the wrong section.

I'd really like to see some odd, creepy things that are unique in an offputting sort of way.
Doesn't really have to be flat-out horrifying in a sense.

Honestly never found "The Shining" scary, but the way it's directed,
along with the use of angles, mirrors, and symmetry...it's so mesmerizing to look at.
There was a huge effort in set design and attention to detail that it's kind of stunning.

Cat Soup on the other hand, is on a whole 'nother level of "what did I just watch?"

The word 'death' sums it up fairly well.

So basically, please send over something an over-analyzing nerd like myself would enjoy.
Doesn't matter if it's manga, anime, or a movie. Thanks a bunch!

The Shining is a realistic horror movie. If you want a trippy film watch Requiem for a dream or more of Kubrick's movies - 2001, Clockwork Orange and Eyes Wide shut comes in mind.

Your life is down for maintenance...

A couple that come to mind are some of John Carpenters works:
- the thing
- prince of darkness
-inside the mouth of madness

Most of Steven Kings works are interesting. Straw Dogs, Soilent Green, Sinister (new one that is pretty f*cked up) and if you are feeling very daring watch a Serbian Film.

A Serbian film. The worst part of it is how well made it is. Absolutely crushing.

Along the lines of The Shining, maybe consider A Clockwork Orange (also Kubrick) or Seven. Both excellent films with some creepy imagery.
