First AMV I've ever made...tips?
0
Well, a friend of mine started making amvs a while ago. So then I decided to make one for fun, and I had some Angel Beats episodes on my harddrive...so, tips? Oh, and my friend thinks I'll have no hope in making amvs cause no one will like em, BEFORE I even made one. What a friend >.<
I don't care if you like Angel Beats or not. I just want feedback. And hopefully I can get some views and show my friend I'm not completely hopeless and he isn't the only one that can make amvs... =.=

The fact that the song is called "Eternal Bliss" makes it horrible and full of gay even though I didn't watch any of it.

It was pretty good but it didn't flow very well and you used a lot of long clips, which for a mostly fast paced song is not good.

@Koko7, thank you! I really liked Angel Beats, so I think you'll enjoy it.
@TakuFox well, I only had a few episodes on my harddrive, and not a lot of TK in them. :(

I liked it personally. I was afraid at first it was going to be nothing but action scenes strung together, but there was some variety thrown in there, which was good. I have to say, I want to watch this anime now.
My only qualm with it is that it did have some "flow" issues, like earlier mentioned.
Also, I find AMVs are better when they have a focus, either trying to tell a story or elaborate on something. Did you have one here? AMVs might look like clips randomly strung together, but the really good ones that live on have more foresight than that. At times though, it felt like you might have had something specific in mind, I'm just not sure I grasped it. If that was the case, my loss.
Anyways, pretty good for a first AMV.

Ehh, not really that low. I was expecting something like that more or less. I even went with a ~ to make it seem like I was extremely happy about it to see his reaction. ;)

Flow issues. Gotcha. Well, I did only have a few episodes and nowhere near enough clips to make them all flow together. Oh well. About the story, not really something I thought about, but I did try to make it seem like there was a order of events, like the fights, then saving Kanade, and then shadows, and then reminiscing. But I'll thnik about this more if I make another one.
Thanks for the feedback guys.

I didn't watch it either. I just came here to point out that sisami is a racist faggot.
Oh yea, just tell your friend that his AMVs are a bunch of dog shit. Mention that some guy on the internet is backing you up.

Also, yeah. Tell him that his AMVs are dog shit and that he'll never be able to sexually please a woman.

I honestly watched it and I believe it needs way shorter clips. The clips you used where to long and apart from that, the clips have to go with the music, not the other way around.
I remember making an AMV once, it was so shitty I decided not to make AMVs again.

Use high quality raws (preferably 1080p) for your work. Nobody likes seeing text (no matter hower short a period of time) at the bottom of the screen and I personally hate it when I full-screen a video and see pixelation.
The clips you've strung together were either too short or too long in-between. Take the scenes in Angel Beats when Iwasawa was singing as an example, each scene change is a good length, but some are also long and some are also short. Here is an example of possibly the best or at least one of the best AMV I have seen so far.
When you make an AMV, you want to bring out the most emotion you can for those viewers that have already seen said Anime. Don't make it for everyone, make it for a select group of people. Use scenes you know will bring out emotion in the viewer, chances are if it did for you, it will for them as well.
The clips you want to use should fit with the music, not the other way around. Though this is easier done if you're using a song that's in English (If you don't understand Japanese that is).
