Commie is good, but I think Horrible does a higher resolution/quantity. At very least, that's what I think. The translation values for both are good, but image-wise Horrible might be better.

Yeah, the real story starts after episode 2. One was just a troll episode.

I had a lot of terrible experiences by picking their so-called-sub. Kinda annoyed by the fact that they only ripped from crunchy, yet don't even bother to QC it.

But hey, I can give it another try. With as minimum expectation as possible.

If that's the case, then you can stay with Commie. I just find their image quality better, not the actual translation (which is about the same).

Of course, I go DDLs.

Also, you should probably check out some of the Muv-Luv stuff on youtube, like The Day After openings/parts (though that is set in alternate timeline). There's also one video made by age that kinds showcases all the different Muv-Luv stories.

Do not watch Claymore anime, it sucks cucumber.
Claymore mango is what I highly recommend. Knowing you, Claymore would hit right at the spot you desire.

There is a Muv-Luv wiki that can carter to your every need for the show, and can explain quite a bit about background. Although the best way, would probably be to just play Unlimited and Alternative.
