I'm not so sure of skype since I never use one, but you can take it easy for MSN. It's surely not as eye-pleasing and rich as skype, but if you only want to chat, then MSN is a considerable solution.

Well, yes, it's very similar to YM, but I personally prefer MSN's GUI to YM's.
