I don't want to go in to detail but here a quick sum of it.Say if you were in a country that normally cold your hair will be dark and its opposite for warm countries. And its all because of something with dna and body reacting to environment.
But how can you explain that blonde hair is so common in scandinavian countries like Finland or Sweden? And brown haired people dont usually have very dark brown hair either.
My hair is just random. The longest ones are usually just wavy, mid length ones are curly, sometimes even curl on drills when it dries naturally and the shortest ones are pretty straight or kinda C-shape.
And OP, that hairstyle looks silly in real life.

Well that has to do with lack of pigmentation this come from genetics.

My hair used to curl quite a bit around the edges when it got long enough, but years of brushing it straight every day seems to have changed that. I heard if you shave yourself bald your hair will grow back differently.I don't want to go in to detail but here a quick sum of it.

How do you explain places like Switzerland, Sweden and Finland then? They're famous for their blondes yet their climates are cold and temperate. And in places like Brazil, Mexico and Egypt it's far more common to see people with black and dark auburn hair.

I explained Switzerland, Sweden and Finland in my last post. And for places like Brazil, Mexico and Egypt I think it has something to do with gene they carry like they could have black hair gene and brown hair gene and body will pick the most appropriate one for the environment that their in.

You said that in cold environments your hair is more likely to be of a darker colour and it would be the opposite for hot environments. Seems like it's the other way around to me based on how rare it is to see blonde or lighter hair colours in hot environments and how common it is for such an occurrence in cold environments.
Also, my original post didn't have much do to with hair colour at all, so I don't really understand why you felt the need to reply with that. By the way, I'm already well aware of how environments shape genetic evolution, I've known about this for at least ten or more years. I'm pretty sure most people with a decent education and fairly minor deductive capabilities can conclude that by the time they're 12.

It has to do with pigmentation reacting to UVA/UVB exposure.
Sunlight lightens hair, and darkens skin.

And that's how we have Dark people and White people.

By that logic all Africans should be blonde.

Doesn't work in real life because your individual strands of hair are visible whereas in anime it just becomes one blob.

Climate has nothing to do with hair, whether the color or the type.
Colors come from mutations and it seems caucasian ancestors were blond for one (Neandertalensis) and brown for the other (Sapiens). It's just a matter of regions and spreading of mutants's offspring.
Type of hair (curly or not, etc), come more from the type of skin. Thick skins give curly hair and thin skins give straight hair. It's all about how the hair grows in and gets out the follicle. Thick skins are more difficult to get out, so the cells are a bit messed and that gives the hair it's morphology -- and fragility.

Mine is very short and really thick. Hairdressers all said it's 80% thicker than the national average.
Because of that, every morning I wake up with weird bed-hair "cat ears" like, that don't go unless I drench all of my head.
