I was referring to that, but nobody can tell the difference so was just lazy.
One time, I made a Katamari like, one fucking kilometer in diameter (you can't even make em this big in the first game) and the king seriously was like, 'wtf is this shit it's way too small' at me.

Have you done the mission for the elephant and the bird "As large as you can"? You can get 3600 km diameter at max iirc. It's the level where you can get the largest.

Biggest I got in the first Katamari was about...860, 870 meters.
And I totally suck at the stage where you can only pick up a limited amount of objects. Dat baby gets so pissed off at me every time.

The level I find to be the funnest is the one where you have to roll up food into the sumo guy.
Haven't been able to beat the Yokuzuna though.
