They scrapped the current comments section and replaced it with a reddit-esque format. It looks horrible and everything's jumbled up.

By "people you care about", of course, they mean people that you have on google+.
You can tag google+ users on comments. Notifications regarding youtube videos show up on google+ instead of youtube.
There's also that thing where google persistently asks you to use your real name instead of a username no matter how many times you decline.
Oh and yeah, hashtags. Everybody's favorite.

I really can't comment on videos anymore. Not that I want to with the comment section being like this, but still, this is utter bullshit. I swear, if I have to have an account to upload videos...

Let me recount how my brush with Google+ went:
>Log in to youtube and realise they've made Google+ a requirement to comment on things
>Connect
>Instantly regret it
>Disconnect
>Could no longer log in, getting "http://www.youtube.com/?noredirect=1" whenever I tried
>Only fixed it because other people got the same problem
The new commenting system is bullshit. It's defaulted to Top Comments first rather than Most Recent because they want to encourage well thought out and popular discussions. That would be fine, but it's seems obvious to me that they really don't know how retarded YouTube commenters can be. Making Google+ a requirement to comment really was a dick move.

They also fucked up the top comment system. They used to be at the top and somtimes the best comments were better than the video itself. Now it's pointless to even look at the comment section.
Also there's a little anotification on the video telling you how many subscribers the video's maker has: Like I give a flying fuck about that! You have to hover your mouse everytime over that thing to make it go away and it gets really annoying.
Those are just some things people haven't complained about yet on this forum.
