Well, I love reading threads about Science. Anyways, thanks Shinji for further dimming my outlook on humanity, although we should already be colonizing other planets by that time. Our beloved Earth will be vaporized.

Look, we got from stick and fabric planes to metal rockets in less then 100 years we will have transport shuttles (big ones) before then and we also have plasma engines.



We'll be long gone by the time the earth is burnt and any of those sun blocking ones will kill us (solar energy-plants-herbivores-carnivores-decomposers) you can't take the sun out of the equation.

We'll probably have moved to other planets and stuff by that time, or maybe The Doctor will come and give use technology to save our planet (though that's more unlikely).

Why can't we just fold space and cause the same effect as 'teleporting'?

Example being tracing over from thumb to each finger tip, fingers spread apart and again with fingers together. Both cover all critical points yet one 'pulls space' together, allows travel, and can spread back apart.

Rather, let's just fuck with the sun and have a black hole party.

Because one, just one failed test would be catastrophic you/we would collide with everything along that path at one point for less then .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001-10000000000000000 seconds failing to stretch it apart would result in a black-hole of sorts, Also folding space takes more energy then you would think. (example: take card board cut out about 5 feet of it as big as you (width and depth.) then try folding it now think of that with light-years.)
