Considering there is pretty much no form of public transportation for a while where I live. Also considering walking to work is a bad thing since it would take me 45 minutes walking time to the destination, and I work at a construction site.

Fuck, I run around 8 hours a day at my job (pumping gas with 3-5 people on filling up to 16 cars at the same time), walk an hour both ways, and I don't bitch about it. Although I could take a bus, it'd take the same amount of time to get there, so I don't see any point of spending money on the bus if it literally takes me around the whole town before dropping me off at work. My calves are kind of beefy.
