to start of i made a mistake on my vote, i suport gey marriage. personaly i dont got nothing agains it, they are human beings. why do people get married because they love each other right, the main reaso why there is so much conflict its because religion says that a couple consists of a man and a woman. people fight against each other for stupid things instead of uniting togheather, one of the reasons why people argue about this topic is because they fear the unknown, they fear there kids might turn out to be gey. let me tell you people i reather have a gey child whom will grow up to be succesfull in life than a straight child whom will grow up to be a drug dealer, so there i sead it.

Didn't some judge in CA say that Prop 8 was unconstitutional and it is now repealed?yeah

To me, this is a moot point. One can argue the morality of it all till the cows come home, but it does not matter legally. Marriage is a right. To say one person deserves this right over the other is unconstitutional and I'm sorry, but you're going to have to work VERY VERY hard to convince me that one's sexual preference dictates second class citizenship.
This just reminds me of the case in Virginia over an interracial marriage. Loving v Virginia (1967). Exactly the same, just replace black woman/white man to man/man or woman/woman. That was deemed unconstitutional then and this is unconstitutional now.
yes it has been repealed, however they are trying to take the repeal to the Supreme Court... so it's... not exactly over. Huge victory, but still sadly on the table.

Er. Yeah. They extended the stay on gay marriages, the fuckers. No gay marriage for now in California.

A federal appeals court has extended a stay on same-sex marriages in California until it decides whether a ban on such unions is constitutional. It is just the latest turn in a protracted legal battle over Proposition 8, the voter-approved ban.
The ruling, issued by a three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, came less than a week after a federal district judge, Vaughn R. Walker, lifted a stay he had imposed to allow proponents of the ban to argue why same-sex marriages should not proceed. On Aug. 4, Judge Walker ruled that Proposition 8 was unconstitutional.
Even when lifting his stay on Thursday, Judge Walker allowed six days for the Ninth Circuit to review his ruling. That left many gay and lesbian couples and their supporters hopeful that same-sex marriages would resume Wednesday at 5 p.m., when Judge Walker’s stay would have expired.
That will not happen. Now, such weddings will not resume until, at least, the appeals court decides the case. And perhaps not until it is decided by the United States Supreme Court, where it seems to be headed.

What about the revenue this could generate. Marriage licenses aren't free, if you've got gay people getting married now that's just more money in the bank for the states. Maybe it will help get ourselves out of this recession or get dropped programs back on with the extra money. Also, you'll have the opposite eventually with divorce and what not, lawyers need their bread too.

I don't really mind then getting married. Sure, you could bring up the whole Children excuse but sooner or later they are going to find out about it aren't they? It's not like knowing gay people would make them choose to be gay since it is not something you can choose to be. And I agree with maddog53. With our faltering economy, I'm sure that all those marriage licenses would bring in a pretty penny.
