This reminds me of a story one of my friends told me some other people when we were in high school:

He was waking past some guy's house and he saw the guy's girlfriend (ex-girlfriend now) throwing all his stuff on the front lawn while they were arguing, including his expensive Power Mac. That's when he said that, no sooner than it hit the ground, he picked it up and ran off with it, and he's still using it to this day.
