The hell are the Nazis doing here?

"Luna, turn invisible." I whisper.

"What? Why?"

"Just do it. And quiet down."

Why are the Nazis here? I know that they were interested in the occult, but that was during the Great Standoff over half a century ago. Could they have been researching magic even after that? Well, the Soviets and the US did continue their research in psionics for a while afterwards so it guess this is a possibility.

"Come on. Let's move quietly."

After a minute, we come up on what seems to be the Nazi camp.

"That's strange."

"What is?" asks Luna

"This place looks...abandoned. Also, everything seems to be made out of wood. You'd think that the Nazis would have set up something better."

"I might be able to see inside one of the buildings if you stand near one of the walls."

"Can you? Alright. Let's pick the closest one."

I quickly scurry over to the closest building to me which also happens to be the largest one. We seem to have come on through the back of the camp.

"Ok, look in. Tell me if you see anyone."

"Ok. Hmm...I don't think we need to be on guard."

"Why? What do you see?"

"Bones. A skeleton to be exact. Everything in here looks pretty old and unmaintained. I think you're right, the camp is abandoned."

I relax a bit, but still keep my hand on my knife.

"Alright. I'll go in myself to check it out."

Just as she said, there is no one here aside from an old skeleton in a Nazi uniform.

"This place looks pretty old. I wonder how long it's been here."

"I don't feel any other ghosts in the area. I could check into the other buildings just to be sure that this place is really abandoned if you want."

"No," I say as I stare at the bullet hole on the skeleton's right temple and then down to the gun he was holding in his hand."I think we're alone in this camp."
