In fact, we’ve gone beyond death and have resurrected into an entirely different animal. Say good by to the gTeam and say hello to the Phoenix Syndicate!
Why phoenix? Because we keep dying and coming back to life. Old habits die hard, but you love us for it anyway, right? RIGHT?
So what’s new? Aside from our obsession with NGNL, we’re moving on to non-pron and releasing HIGH-QUALITY translations of the light novel.
Still not enough awesome? We’re expanding and encouraging new members to join up for training and development. Yup, we’ll teach you how to edit and translate like a boss. I’ll personally whip you into shape and Tech will consume your soul - all in the brotherhood that defines us as a group.

I see *join* and I see *training* if I'm not blinded by some misunderstanding here just how sloppy of an understanding in japanese are you willing to accept here? or is it some translator slang that mean --completely fluent but little experience in translation ¬youshabbywannabees--?

So like, you guys are translating the same NGNL, but with supposedly higher quality translation than the ones they have in baka-tsuki and that-one-translation-team-I-forgot-the-name? Or a spinoff novel of NGNL?

Err, let me make it clear. By Re:Vamp, that means you guys are starting on a series that already has two translators, at the very least, working on it? Isn't that kinda... dunno, wasting your time?
Plus I've heard that Yen Press is gonna license this so sooner or later baka-tsuki and perhaps NanoDesu will remove this from their project, and when this happen, will you do the same? If yes, isn't translating it from the get go pointless?

Personally, the reason why we picked up the NGNL Light Novel was more of an experiment to see how much Ed had improved as a translator, releasing it is just a bonus.
Wondering if YenPress would contact us to provide official translations, considering how shit the SAO ones were...

Besides, we’re doing this as a service to the series, as FANS of the series. We hope other people who appreciate the series would just as well appreciate a GOOD translation. So, uh... do you think it is possible polish the skills of a person, even if that person has a knowledge seen as weak or Null?

Fair enough. I do agree that this version is somehow "smoother" than the Baka-Tsuki one, but still somewhat on par with NanoDesu. About the DMCA, well, it will come eventually, and they will have their own, err... uniquely standardized translator, much like most other so-called "professional" work.

To touch on the recruiting a little bit, we do require some knowledge of what you are applying to. I don't mean to contradict Tech on this, but maybe to clarify a bit?
If you are interested in taking the test for editing or translating, please do so! Just be aware that, no, we are not running a school or giving free lessons in either department.

If you can't pass the tests, don't feel like it's a failure! We can point you at what you need to work on, give you some advice, and you can always reapply later down the road. We all started at square one, right?
