Hentai Artist Now Doing Manga?!
0
Now I hope this is an okay place to post this. So this came to little shock to me but after reading various artists of doujinshi I got pretty good at telling who does what. Well when I started reading a new Manga series on ONEMANGA I started thinking to myself "Wow this looks like that one artist" well I checked out who drew them and yes they are indeed the same artist. The artist name is Maybe. Doujinshi here: https://www.fakku.net/viewmanga.php?id=3701
And Manga here: http://www.onemanga.com/Tasogare_Otome_x_Amnesia/
I hope the links work (And I hope they are allowed I don't know how to post pictures :3)
Also this is my first real post for this site so I welcome myself :D

Welcome to FAKKU! Newcomer. Have you verified 100% with the actual sources of both doujin and manga? I've read works from Maybe ( Doujins ) and I've read Tasogare Otome X Amnesia ( Favorite manga at the moment ) and I'm still skeptical on it actually being the same artist, but then again, most manga artists started out doing doujin work. Just look at Clamp. The artwork is the same , the deliverance as well. But I still give it the benefit of the doubt.

Quite a few non-ero mangaka also publish hentai stuff.
Like Inazuma - ring a bell? He does High School of the Dead.
Or the artist of the original Pokemon manga, if I recall right. Name escapes me though.

You mean Toshihiro Ono? Inazuma's name pops several times, but I don't think I read any of his Ero works. HSoD is something I'm looking forward to.

That And both sites have Maybe as the artist, but then again that doesn't mean it's true. Tasogare Otome X Amnesia is a series I instantly fell in love with, I just love the art style (Which is why i guess i like the Doujins too!)

For a second there, I though you fell in love with Yuuko. Well, manga wise, there is a noticeable resemblance. Try looking it up. Nash has even mentioned that a few non-ero mangaka produce doujin works.

Yeah, they usually use different names for their publications though.
I only know of those two, but there sure are more.
Oh wait, there is one... ever read 'Yomeiro Choice'? That dude also does a lot of Ero-Manga, ranging from Loli to Regular to Futa. Varied, to say the least.

No it's defiantly the characters i fell in love with (the art was just a huge bonus) but here's another site saying the same thing. But once again I don't know if that proves anything (How can I prove it? lol) http://www.mangaupdates.com/authors.html?id=6501

Huh...never knew that. Seems like " Yomeiro Choice " is targeted at a younger audience though. Which is why he changes his name...? I'll look some of it up. Thanks Nash.
Spoiler:
Maybe is the author for both Manga and Doujin.

Just looked at some ero-manga by him, the name under which he publishes his hentai stuff is "Doi Sakazaki".

The authors of Tasogare Otome x Amnesia and Maiden Camillia (link in the first post) are indeed one and the same. Maybe is responsible for both. A quick trip to his official website proved that. Another artist I know that stepped into the realm of Non-H is Takeda Hiromitsu. He's doing a manga called Maken-Ki.

Happens a lot, I think. Wasn't the creator of Tenjo Tenge also like this?
It's a more acceptable profession to make PG manga, I'm guessing. So maybe a lot of them eventually hone their skills and move out of the hentai genre.

Hellsing's Hirano Kouta also started out as an eromangaka.
You should read Coyote from him, you'll be surprised how familiar the whole things feels - badass mercenaries, complete monster bad guys, psychotic good guys... all in all a lot like Hellsing but with a lot more sex and fanservice.

Manabe Jouji tends to bounce back and forth between H and mainstream. Anybody here remember Outlanders and Caravan Kidd?
Kikkawa Kabao did a spinoff manga of Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann, I recall.
Also, Azuma Kiyohiko - famous for Azumanga Daioh - used to do ero manga under the penname "Jonokuchi Jouji".
